We’re getting ready for a cracking Easter in SE1
It’s a hop and a skip away until the Easter weekend and we’re eggcited (yes, we had to throw that in). The snow has cleared, the evenings are lighter and we’ve got a spring in our step.
There’s no shortage of fun ahead for both family and friends.
London Bridge City is hosting its Easter Egg trail once again this year on Saturday, 31 March. Gather at Hay’s Galleria to follow clues and take part in some silly games while hunting down chocolate eggs on this free family event aimed at ages 5-10 years.
Gabriel’s Wharf’s Easter Extravaganza returns for another year on Easter Saturday. It’ll be choc full of crafts for the children and live music performed by Daughters of Davis. The little ones are sent on a mission to find the tasty treats dotted around Gabriel’s Wharf shops, while adults can take part in the Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win a £50 gift voucher.
Blue Elephant Theatre is bringing drama, music and games to Elephant Park in their production of The Curious Case of the Missing Eggs. All are welcome to these family friendly performances and the meeting point is Trunk at Artworks, before heading to Elephant Park, Elephant Road. Free performances will be held on Good Friday at 12, 2pm and 3.30pm. Spaces are limited so booking is advised.
More theatre in the pipeline can be found at Unicorn Theatre on Tooley Street. Baby Show (aimed at 6-18 months) is a 40-minute sensory production exploring the fun to be had in getting ready to go outside.
Finally, our cultural highlight for this week has to be the Modigliani exhibition at the Tate Modern. It’s your last chance to check out his iconic and provocative portraits of nudes. There’s more than 100 works on show – 40 of which have never been shown before in the UK. Happy Easter!
